Our Development Approach
Before we design any project, we conduct a comprehensive pre-survey of the area and target communities. This process goes beyond data collection, it is a holistic exercise aimed at truly understanding the needs, aspirations, and underlying root causes of the challenges communities face. The collected data is analyzed by a multidisciplinary team and complemented by technical insights from field professionals. This collaboration ensures that income-generating development projects are meticulously customized to community needs, reflecting a professional and sustainable approach.
In the implemented projects, GDFH holds up to a 20% share for a limited number of years, depending on the specific project. These proceeds are reinvested into sustainable social development projects for the same community. This model serves multiple vital purposes:
1. Fostering Ownership and Investment: By giving communities the majority of share of sustainable economic projects, they experience genuine ownership and partnership. Furthermore, they contribute directly from within the community for their own social welfare.
2. Enhancing Oversight and Performance: This collaborative financial arrangement naturally strengthens our joint oversight of project performance increasing project efficiency and accountability.
3. Strengthening Cooperation for Sustainable Development: This cooperation offers communities invaluable opportunities for knowledge transfer and capacity building, while enabling GDfH to work more collaboratively alongside communities, not only for foster their development but also to mutually and proactively address potential challenges.
